This Week at St. John's
SEARCH COMMITTEE FOR NEW RECTOR    
Applications are available if you wish to be on the Search Committee for the new Rector.  The election for the Search Committee members has tentatively been set for September 12, 2010.  Scott Moore will have some with him this Sunday or you can stop by the office to pick one up or we can email one to you.  Just send an email request to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. SECOND COLLECTION    MAINTENANCE    
RENOVATION OF THE KELLOGG ROOM    

At its April 2009 meeting, the Finance Council decided to implement a schedule of second collections on selected Sundays in order to raise funds for items which either have no budget or are over budget. It is our hope that parishioners will be generous in support of this endeavor. If you want credit for the second offering, please use a check or use one of the envelopes that are in the church and put your name on it. Today, August 1, we will have a second collection for the renovation of the Kellogg Room.

2010 Fall Tag Sale  E-mail
2010 FALL TAG SALE
Are you doing summer - fall cleaning? St John’s will be having a Tag Sale Saturday September 11 - 9am to 2 pm, set up 9am to 7pm Thurs September 9 and 9am to 9pm Friday September 10.  We need lots of help so please consider any time you can give.  Items may also be dropped off Monday to Friday before 11:00 am and on Sundays. We are taking all items, misc household, furniture, jewelry etc.  Empty groceries bags are also needed.  Please no computers or linens. If you have any questions call 203-706-2293.

PHOTO CONTEST

Email in your best photo of the inside or outside of St. John's Church.  Photos will be posted in the hall and voted on by the parishioners at the parish meeting on Sept 12.

Winner will receive a digital camera and winning photo will be featured on the upcoming pledge campaign card.
