Sunday Jazz at the 9:30 Service — September 25

Rosemary Minkler, a member of St. John's since birth, leads an ensemble of jazz musicians at our 9:30 service one Sunday each month.  Joining Rose are friends and classmates from the music program at Western Connecticut State University.  Upcoming Jazz Sundays: July 24, August 21, and September 25. Spring Concert: Waterbury Youth Chorus & Bravo Waterbury

On Sunday, May 1, 2016, the Waterbury Youth Chorus and Bravo Waterbury! performed a spring concert at St. John's Church to an appreciative audience of about 75 people. Each group sang several pieces followed by the combined choirs singing "Imagine" by John Lennon.
 
The concert program included the following songs:

Sunday Jazz Coffeehouse Concert – April 24, 2016

Join our Sunday Jazz Ensemble for a special Coffeehouse Concert on Sunday, April 24, 2016 at 3:00pm, at St. John's. The program will feature original compositions and arrangements of familiar jazz standards. Proceeds will benefit the music program at St. John's Parish! Beatles Sunday is back! (Domingo con Los Beatles!) Yeah! Yeah! Yeah!

We are repeating the very popular Beatles Sunday at the 10:00 service on June 14, 2015. Come to church and enjoy the wonderful music of the best rock group ever. Anthems and congregational hymns will be selected from the repertoire of songs by John, Paul, George, and Ringo. Hymns will include "Here Comes The Sun," "The Long and Winding Road," and "Let it Be." Saying “Thanks” • Diciendo “Gracias” – 03/01/15

Please join us to celebrate Bob Havery's long tenure as the director of music at St John's. Bob has spent over 36 years playing the organ at St John's. Although he will continue teaching at Westover School, Bob is retiring from St. John's. We will have a special festive coffee hour between the services on his last day with us, March 1. Come to celebrate, give thanks, and enjoy some cake!
