Father Armando Stepping Down

Dear Beloved Community of St. John’s,

I write to share an important update about a change in our parish community. After many years of devoted service, Fr. Armando, our cherished Hispanic Missioner, has decided to step down from his role at St. John’s in order to devote more time to his family. In honoring Fr. Armando’s decision, we kindly ask that you refrain from reaching out to him by phone or text, allowing him the time and space he needs for personal matters. We will soon be organizing an expression of gratitude to honor his service.

Fr. Armando’s pastoral presence and care will be deeply missed throughout our community. We are profoundly grateful for the many ways he has shared his gifts and wisdom with us. One of his most lasting legacies is the vibrant Spanish-speaking community he helped cultivate, a community that will continue to grow and thrive for many years to come.

During this time of transition, St. John’s remains dedicated to serving the needs of our parish. Thanks to the dedication of our lay leaders and clergy friends, our worship services will continue without interruption. Please refer to our worship schedule for more information. I am available for pastoral care, questions, and conversation as needed.

The vestry and I, with the support of our bishops, are in the process of calling an Associate Priest who will focus on our Spanish-speaking community and provide pastoral care to our congregation. A Position Description is available on our website for those interested.

This is a time for our congregation to come together, supporting and showing grace to one another. While Fr. Armando will be missed, we move forward with hope and faith in the future that lies ahead.

In Christ,

The Rev. Jill Morrison

Priest-in-Charge
